Seize The Leash Services - Body postures, communication signals and social behaviors The art of communication is the language of leadership. - James Humes
Like humans, dogs can communicate with almost every part of their body, from their faces to their tails to their eyes. Dogs closely observe posture, tail position, movement, facial expressions, eye contact and smell. Many problems occur because of communication problems between humans and dogs. Very seldom does someone get bit without the dog communicating his attitude first. The inexperienced and children are the most likely to have an unfortunate experience. Understanding the implications of various forms of dog communication will help you better understand your dog and, therefore, be a better pet owner. A dog's social instincts makes her a good observer who pays close attention to everybody and everything around her. You might not realize it, but your dog watches and listens to you all the time and learns your patterns of behavior. Sometimes it seems as if she can read your mind, but her ability to predict your every move is really just good observation skills at work. Partial Course Summary
